e-tax 2014 2015 on Windows XP
Although not officially supported, it is possible to run the ATO's e-tax 2014 and 2015 program on Microsoft Windows XP.The reason the ATO cites for not oficially supporting e-tax on Windows XP is that Microsoft have dropped their support for the 12 year old operating system, and that is is vulnerable to malicious software because the OS no longer receives security updates.
Those who go ahead and downloads e-tax on Windows XP needs to be aware of the requirement to have Service Pack 3 installed. If SP3 is not installed, e-tax will not run properly, despite appearing to install properly.
